Concerned about your lungs? A yearly screening could help.
We can detect lung issues, including lung cancer, earlier than ever. The
test that does this, a low-dose CT scan, usually is covered by insurance.
To be eligible for a low-dose CT scan, you must meet these four criteria:
- Be between 55 and 77 years old
- Have no signs or symptoms of lung cancer
- Have a tobacco habit history of at least 30 pack-years (a pack-year equals
smoking at least 20 cigarettes a day for one year)
- Be a current smoker or have quit within the last 15 years
The next step is talking with your primary care provider. They must order
the test. If you don't have a primary care provider, we can help you
find one. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends this yearly
lung cancer screening if you meet these criteria.
