Hospitalists are physicians specializing in the care of patients in the hospital setting. Their sole focus is on inpatient care, and they are readily available to answer questions from patients or family members as well as to rapidly follow up on test results, discuss cases with specialists, examine patients’ responses to treatments, and adjust the treatments as needed.
