Patient Rights & Responsibilities
Patients have rights – and responsibilities – when it comes to healthcare. At UK King’s Daughters, we are sensitive to all patient needs, including cultural, psychosocial, racial, linguistic, age, gender, religious and spiritual as well as the needs of disabled patients.
Patients are provided impartial access to treatment and accommodations that are available and/or medically indicated regardless of race, creed, gender, age sexual orientation, national origin, availability of transportation or sources of payment for care.
We value each patient and offer considerate, respectful care at all times and under all circumstances, with an emphasis on personal dignity.

Compliance & Integrity Department
UK King’s Daughters has developed a Corporate Compliance Program to ensure that it conducts its operations and provides services in a manner consistent with its mission, charitable purposes and in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.
It is the responsibility of every employee and member of the professional staff to ensure they conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the Code of Conduct and other UK King's Daughters and Corporate Compliance policies.
UK King's Daughters takes issues regarding fraud, waste and abuse seriously. It is important that all employees and associated individuals (1) comply with the standards contained in the Code of Conduct; (2) immediately report any suspected violations; and (3) assist, as needed, in investigating allegations of wrongdoing. While there will be no retaliation allowed on those who raise issues, failure to observe the provisions of the Compliance Program and associated policies and procedures can result in serious consequences to both the employee and UK King's Daughters in the form of termination, criminal charges and substantial monetary fines.

Vendor Compliance
UK King’s Daughters is committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients and conducting business with integrity and in compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Business partners are expected to understand and support our policies.
Contractors and vendors should review and abide by the following:
Deficit Reduction Act Of 2005
As a participant in the Medicaid Program, UK King’s Daughters is obligated to comply with the terms and requirements of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA). In accordance with the DRA, there are written policies and procedures for all employees that provide detailed information about the Federal False Claims Act, relevant state laws, the whistleblower protections under such laws, and UK King's Daughters specific policies for detecting and preventing fraud, waste and abuse.
The DRA also requires that this information is provided to all contractors and vendors for review and they agree to abide by the high ethical standards set forth in any work done.
