Michael Canty, M.D.March is colon cancer awareness month, and King’s Daughters will host Food for Thought: Colon Cancer, a free presentation and healthy luncheon, at noon Tuesday, March 22, in the medical center’s Health Education Center (lower level of Lexington Ave. parking garage).

Gastroenterologist Michael Canty, M.D., who has practiced with King’s Daughters for more than 25 years, will speak about colon cancer screening and treatment.

Colon cancer is one of the most treatable … and beatable cancers, but it must be caught early. Those who are 50 or older or have a family history of colon cancer should talk to their healthcare provider about screening colonoscopy, which is covered by most insurance plans.

The event is free, but RSVP is required by calling (606) 408-1721.
