In celebration of American Heart Month, King’s Daughters is inviting area residents to attend a special celebration of heart health from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

King’s Daughters Cardiology will be providing free Healthy Heart with EKG screenings in its offices – Suite 230, Medical Plaza B, 613 23rd St. The screening consists of checks of total cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, oxygen levels and a screening EKG. A King’s Daughters heart specialist will review results of the screening. No appointment is needed.

King’s Daughters Tri-State Vascular Specialists, Suite 140, Medical Plaza B, will be offering the popular Low-Cost Vascular Screening. The screening consists of ultrasounds of the abdominal aorta (to check for weaknesses); ultrasound of the carotid arteries (to look for blockages that could lead to stroke); and an ankle-brachial index study to evaluate circulation in the lower extremities. Cost for all three screenings is just $80. Appointments are required and may be made by calling 1-888-377-KDMC.

In addition to the screenings, participants will have the opportunity to meet King’s Daughters heart team; learn about the benefits of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation; discover the importance of sleep in overall health; enjoy healthy refreshments; and pick up additional information and giveaway items.
