JDRF Road Tour to make stop in Portsmouth March 30

This way to a cure! The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Road Tour is making a stop in Portsmouth - 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at King's Daughters Medical Center Ohio, 2001 Scioto Trail, Portsmouth.

Destination: A Cure for T1D (type 1 diabetes) will feature guest speaker John Lyons whose 10-year-old daughter Julia was diagnosed with T1D when she was 3. John, who lives in Cincinnati, is on the JDRF Board and has been active in JDRF's Research Information Volunteers Program for two years.

John, along with other volunteers have been busy traveling Ohio the last 18 months informing communities on the latest on the quest to cure, treat and prevent T1D. Updates include news about artificial pancreas technology, beta cell encapsulation and smart insulin.

The event is free and open to those impacted by T1D. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, visit www.researchroadtour.org.
