King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome gynecology practice of Richard Ford, M.D., to its Integrated Practices. Patients are welcome at King’s Daughters Medical Specialties Gynecology, 224 Winchester Ave., Suite 1, Ashland. The practice consists of two physicians and two nurse practitioners. Conditions commonly treated by gynecologists include:

  • issues relating to pregnancy, fertility, menstruation, and menopause
  • family planning, including contraception, sterilization, and pregnancy termination
  • problems with tissues that support the pelvic organs, including ligaments and muscles
  • STIs
  • polycystic ovary syndrome
  • urinary and fecal incontinence
  • benign conditions of the reproductive tract, for example, ovarian cysts, fibroids, breast disorders, vulvar and vaginal ulcers, and other non-cancerous changes
  • premalignant conditions, such as endometrial hyperplasia, and cervical dysplasia
  • cancers of the reproductive tract and the breasts, and pregnancy-related tumors
  • endometriosis, a chronic condition that affects the reproductive system
  • sexual dysfunction

Dr. Richard Ford returned to his hometown of Ashland in 1999 and established a practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2012, he stopped practicing obstetrics and now focuses on gynecology. Dr. Ford earned his medical degree at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed internship/residency at the UK Medical Center. He is board certified in obstetrics/gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology. Dr. Ford is chief medical officer at King’s Daughters.

Dr. Jerald Ford recently returned to gynecology practice after a brief hiatus. He completed medical school and residency training at the University of Kentucky. He began his career in 1974 as an obstetrician/gynecologist at King’s Daughters. He is board certified in obstetrics/gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology.

Tracy Hunter, APRN, began practicing at Dr. Ford’s office in 1999. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Morehead State University and worked as a labor and delivery nurse at the University of Kentucky for eight years. She received a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Louisville in 2003 and a certification in midwifery from Frontier University in 2005. She is board-certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner as well as a Certified Nurse Midwife.

Jessica Duncan, APRN, earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Morehead State University and began her career as a telemetry nurse as well as CT/ICU nurse for six years at the University of Kentucky. She earned an master’s degree in nursing from Frontier University. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She worked as a family nurse practitioner at St. Claire Medical Center for four years prior to joining the practice of Dr. Richard Ford in 2016.
