Nurse practitioner joins SSU Health Clinic
King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome nurse practitioner Bindyaben Patel, APRN, to its Shawnee State University Health Clinic. Patel will be providing primary care services to Shawnee State students, faculty and staff.

Patel earned her master of science in nursing from Kentucky Christian University, Grayson, Ky., and her bachelor of science in nursing at Shawnee State University, where she also completed her associates degree in nursing. Patel holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from P.J. Science College in Bardoli, India.

Previously, Patel was a staff nurse at King’s Daughters Medical Center Ohio, working with orthopedic patients and in the Urgent Care Center.

The Shawnee State University Health Clinic is located in Hatcher Hall, 1001 Fourth St., Portsmouth. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. The clinic is open only to Shawnee State University students, faculty and staff.

The clinic offers nurse assessment and evaluation; first aid for minor injuries, management and treatment of minor illnesses such as UTIs, upper respiratory infections, rashes; blood pressure management; sports, employment and annual physicals; university-required immunizations; health education; and referral to SSU and community resources.
