UK King's Daughters matches Healthcare Workforce Investment grants at three local institutions

The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) hosted the 3rd annual Healthcare Workforce Collaboratory in Lexington Tuesday, December 9, bringing together Kentucky’s most influential healthcare leaders, policy experts, educators, and workforce partners to tackle one of the state’s most pressing issues — the healthcare staffing crisis.
As part of the event, the CPE announced grant recipients through the Healthcare Workforce Investment Fund. UK King's Daughters representatives Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Jamie Parsons and Workforce Development Manager Lesya Feinstein, together with Healthcare Program partners from Ashland Community and Technical College, Kentucky Christian University and Morehead State University, helped celebrate the grants with a special check presentation.
Ashland Community & Technical College
Ashland Community and Technical College was awarded more than $100,000. These funds are being matched by UK King’s Daughters, bringing the total to:
- $144,000 for the Associate Degree Nursing program
- $72,000 for the Associate of Applied Science in Radiography program
Kentucky Christian University
Kentucky Christian University was awarded more than $150,000. These funds are being matched by UK King’s Daughters, bringing the total to:
- $318,000 for the Bachelors of Nursing program
Morehead State University
Morehead State University was awarded more than $260,000. These funds are being matched by UK King’s Daughters, bringing the total to:
- $152,000 for the Associate of Applied Science in Radiography program
- $190,000 for the Associate Degree Nursing program
- $190,000 for the Bachelors of Nursing program
Each school will offer scholarships for nursing and radiography students with training and job placement support, helping to address critical healthcare shortages across the Commonwealth. Scholarship committees at each school will include school members and representatives from King's Daughters. Eligible radiography and nursing students can apply for the scholarships. A committee will review the applications and select recipients. Students who are chosen to receive the funding must agree to contingent employment with King's Daughters to receive the award.
“Investing in education is the most sustainable way to strengthen Kentucky’s healthcare workforce, and through these partnerships and matching funds, we are expanding access to nursing and radiography programs, supporting students from classrooms to careers, and ensuring our communities have the skilled caregivers they need in the future,” Parsons said.
