Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
King's Daughters NICU is one of only five Level-III NICUs in Kentucky.
We also provide intermediate or continuing care for babies who are not
as ill but who require specialized care.
Newborn babies who need intensive medical attention are often admitted
into a special area of the medical center called Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit or NICU.
The NICU at King's Daughters combines advanced technology and trained
healthcare professionals to provide specialized care for our smallest patients.
The 13-bed NICU provides care for newborns born prematurely or with other
Specially trained nurses as well as neonatologists
Ramon Ymalay, M.D., and
Courtney DeJesso, M.D., provide care for premature babies and newborns with special medical needs.
