da Vinci Robotic-Assisted Surgery
A newer surgical option
Robotic-assisted da Vinci surgery has been a part of UK King’s Daughters’ surgical services for more than a decade. With our new da Vinci 5 surgical system, we are continuing to expand the minimally invasive surgical options our surgeons bring to their patients.
King’s Daughters recently invested in three new dv5 systems for its Ashland operating rooms. These new systems represent a significant leap in the field of robotic-assisted surgery, featuring 3D high-definition visualization and Force Feedback technology – allowing surgeons greater tactile sensitivity during procedures.
UK King’s Daughters introduced robotic-assisted surgery to our area in 2011.
Several different surgical specialties and surgeons use the da Vinci 5:

Gynecology
- Tony Dotson, D.O.
- Brian Frederick, M.D.
- Kelsey James, M.D. (also performing da Vinci surgery in Portsmouth, Ohio)
