Improving your health through exercise

Following a cardiac event, procedure or diagnosis, patients often feel anxious or fearful about exercising. Yet exercise is one of the most important things heart patients can do for their hearts. King’s Daughters Cardiac Rehabilitation program has helped thousands of patients recover their lives following heart attack, heart surgery or other heart issue.

Cardiac rehab isn't just exercise

Our cardiac rehab program includes monitored and supervised exercise, as well as education on diet and nutrition, emotional support, family education, and the opportunity to develop friendships with others who are also recovering from a heart issue.

Formal cardiac rehabilitation programs have been demonstrated to help patients stabilize, slow or even reverse the progression of heart disease, thereby reducing the risk of another cardiac event.

Who can benefit?

Cardiac rehabilitation is open to patients who have, or are recovering from, any of the following conditions:

  • Heart or heart-lung transplant
  • Stable chronic heart failure (ejection fraction of 35% or less and NYHA Class II through IV)
  • Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty/coronary stenting
  • Heart valve repair or replacement
  • Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG)
  • Acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) within the preceding 12 months
  • Current stable angina pectoris

Most insurance companies cover the cost of Phase I and Phase II cardiac rehabilitation; check with your insurance plan for specifics of your coverage.

Our outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program lasts 6 to 12 weeks. Participants meet for about an hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Most insurance companies cover the cost of cardiac rehabilitation if ordered by your healthcare provider. Be sure to check with your insurance plan for specifics of your coverage.
